Things to do in the Lake Tahoe area

We thought you might like to see a list of a few things to do in the Lake Tahoe Area. On most days we will have some kind of planned activity that is of course, optional. Evenings will also have an activity on the campgrounds. You can expect some of the usual activities you've come to love like, Frisbee golf, swimming, games and the ultra-competitive steeple chase!

Some things to look forward to...

-Playing in the lake (check out the Zephyr Point website for a great photo of their swim area http://www.zephyrpoint.org/)

-Biking trails around the lake

-Hiking- Eagle falls (great scenery by Emerald Bay and great hiking area)

-Vikingsholm Castle - it is surrounded by Forest Service land that is a park with hiking trails

-Trolley Ride - You can catch the trolley that will take you around the lake with one of the many stops being at Zephyr Cove

-Virginia City - An old western town in the Nevada hills

-Many more activities like horseback riding, para sailing, tram rides, white water rafting are available but, more expensive

-We will have activity options for those in all budget ranges!

Prayer Requests

Hello Little family-

We are just a few weeks away from our reunion at Zephyr Point! The reunion committee is excited to welcome everyone. We've had a good time planning and being in touch with quite a few of you over the last 3 years.
As we get closer to the reunion, it has become apparent that many people are experiencing some road blocks and challenges in getting to the reunion. We just wanted to ask everyone to keep the greater family in your prayers in the coming weeks.

Here are a few challenges that we are aware of and we are sure there are more out there-

job loss, job transition, houses that won't sell, workers on strike jeopardizing chances of coming to reunion, upcoming surgery, work conflicts making it difficult to get away, expensive car issues, short on money for gas...your prayers are appreciated!

If you have a specific request that you would like to share with the family, please use the comment option . We believe that our large, extended family is a faithful bunch who will be happy to pray for you!

3 weeks and counting...

Auction & Talent Show

The reunion is drawing near. It's just about 2 months away!

Have you started to think about what kind of talent you might want to share with the family? Have you come across some special treasures that you would be willing to donate to the family auction? As we have in the past, we will be holding a family auction night and a talent night. We would love your participation for one or both of these nights! Here are a few ideas...

talent night- singing, skits, poetry reading, dancing, playing a musical instrument...all ages are welcome!

auction evening- family memorabilia, crafts (or anything hand-made), photos, something related to a business that you own or work for...well, really, just about anything. Money from the auction goes toward reducing the cost of our next reunion, scholarships and administrative costs (photocopies, mailings, etc).

Need some inspiration?

Here are some photos that were taken at the 2001 reunion- Cascade Lake, Idaho. Wouldn't it be fun to see some of these faces again? You can click on these pictures to get a larger view.

PS. most of these photos were taken after a hard fought game of some kind- always a huge hit at our reunions!

Date and Location of 2007 reunion

We are expecting a big turnout for the 2007 "Big" Little Family Reunion! Registrations have been coming in since October and space is becoming somewhat limited. If you haven't registered, you should do so ASAP. Already, more than 90 people are registered to attend!

Our reunion will be held at Zephyr Point on Lake Tahoe, Zephyr Cove, Nevada. http://www.zephyrpoint.org This is a Presbyterian Conference Center, set on the beautiful Lake Tahoe. They have their own private beach access and there will be plenty to do and see in the surrounding area.

The reunion begins on Sunday, June 24 at 3pm and ends Friday, June 29 at 11am.

The reunion committee decided on Zephyr Point on Lake Tahoe for several reasons. Though there have been some wonderful reunions in Oregon and most recently, Idaho; we heard overwhelmingly that the family would like to see a reunion in California. We looked at sites in Southern and Northern California, and Zephyr Point had the best combination of facilities for all ages, location and cost. We are especially hopeful that many family members from California who have not made it to recent reunions will enjoy this location!

Welcome to our reunion website

Hello Little Family! This website it for you. We hope with this website we will be able to more easily communicate information about our upcoming reunion. We also hope family members will post comments and use this as a means for keeping in touch.

In the coming days, you will find links to our reunion location, in the lovely Lake Tahoe area!
You can also expect a lot of pictures of the family to show up here, so if you just like to go down memory lane, browse at your leisure.

Did you miss the last reunion? It was a beautiful location- Challis, ID- outstanding hospitality- Living Waters Ranch- and wonderful company! We missed you if you were not able to make the trip. Check out the group picture from the 2003 reunion in Challis. Can you find Flora, Al and Alice?

More to come,
the reunion committee
