2010 Reunion Planning

This is an excerpt from the recently mailed Little Family Reunion newletter.

Looking forward

For those in the family that like to plan their lives well in advance, we have good and bad news. First the good news. You can count on a Little Family Reunion sometime in the summer of 2010! Wow, that’s only 2 summers away. The bad news is that we won’t know the date and location until late next summer- 2009. If you’ve ever looked for a retreat location for a group, you know that most camp and conference centers will not allow you to formally book your group any earlier than 12 months in advance. This is true for all of the conference centers we have inquired about in recent years.
The committee has already started gathering preliminary information and getting our names on the “we’re interested” list for at least two potential reunion locations. Based on the survey that we took at the last reunion, we will focus most of our energy on Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe, NV and Ida Haven in McCall, ID. These locations received the most votes on the survey question; Which location would you prefer? We will also do our part to search out other camp and conference centers that might be centrally located, cost effective and bring in the highest number of Littles. We understood from our survey that many people liked Zephyr Cove and with a few tweaks to the way we are housed; it could be a premium location. We also know that Ida Haven in McCall, ID (1998 reunion) had some of the best recreation options in recent history. The survey also revealed that we should begin our search focused on late June and July. However, if our options are few and it’s the right location, we’ll certainly consider early August.
It’s our goal to have as many relatives of John T. and Louella G. Little at the next reunion as possible! This begins with early and frequent communication about the 2010 reunion. We will do our best to get you this information so that you can pass it on to all the members of your family. If you have specific location questions or recommendations for 2010, please feel free to email them to Leslie Curtis (slcurtis02@comcast.net) or call her cell phone at 503-369-6342.
